The 7 Major Chakras

Chakra: the word originates with the Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" and each chakra resembles a whirling vortex of energy. They are energy centers within our body which process all activity and information entering and leaving the body. Science has found that there is a higher electromagnetic output from certain parts of the body, these directly relate to the location of the chakras, which gives credence to the concept of chakras. They correspond with the seven ductless glands in the body. Each chakra is charged and recharged through contact with the stream of cosmic energy in the atmosphere; think of the way your home is connected to a power source in your neighborhood. A chakra (your home) takes in the raw energy (the source of power) and changes it into a form that's usable by the human body. Chakras regulate the flow of energy that runs through the physical body. Just like the wiring in your home, the body's electrical system allows the electrical current to be sent to every part, ready for use when needed. But, just like the electrical system in your home, the chakras can malfunction, short-out, etc. They need to be "rewired" now and then; cleared and recharged. Your main electrical wiring in this sense, runs from the base of the spine up to the crown of your head, with the seven major chakras being the power stations along the way. I will give information on each chakra, one every month, beginning with the first, or Root, chakra up to the seventh, or Crown, chakra. As well as general information about that particular chakra, you will also learn: - it's location - which of the five senses it relates to - the physical area of the body it affects - how to recognize if it's healthy or needs to be "re-wired" - how to use color, gemstone, herbs and fragrances for balancing it - and an affirmation to work with for that particular chakra.
